Dr. Govindasamy Rajarathinam MBBS., M.S(G.S)., DNB, MRCS(Edin),Mch(SGE) Director, STAR KIMS INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL a renowned Liver transplant surgeo and Surgical Gastroentrologist in Trichy, India. He has performed the first successful living donor liver transplantation in trichy in 2015 January for apatient from Yemen, and performed more than 30 liver transplants successfully He is running a state of art centre for Liver disease and transplantation at trichy from 2012 with international collaboration involving experts from King's college hospital, London, United Kingdom.
He was qualified in Mastery of surgery from the prestigious Madras medical college and Mastery fo Chirurgery from Stanley medical college Chennai. He practiced as a Consultant in Department Surgical gastroenterology in Apollo H
ospitals. Chennai and Associate Professor in the Institute of Surgical Gastroenterology and Liver Transplantation, Govt. Stanley Medical College Hospital. Chennai.
He underwent specialist training in Liver transplantation at institute of liver disease, Kings college Hospital London and Laparoscopic living donor training at Seoul national university hospital South Korea. He was one of the active members of the team which performed first successful Liver transplantation in Government health sector in India at Stanley medical college hospital in 2009. He was also a team member of liver transplantation unit at Apollo Hospitals Chennai from 2008 till 2012.
He
was awarded by Govt. of Tamilnadu for successfully performing liver transplantation surgeries in Trichy, south One of tamilnadu in September 2017 by Honorable health minister.
